The UAMS Controller’s Office provides professional accounting, financial management and business consulting services supporting the entire UAMS operation and its mission. The Controller’s Office reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration.

The Controller’s Office and it’s subdepartments are specifically responsible for:
- Consolidating all accounting for UAMS business transactions via collaboration with all UAMS divisions
- Designing, enhancing and maintaining the UAMS general ledger system
- Accounting for all UAMS property, equipment and debt, along with debt compliance
- Providing centralized disbursement services for payments to all UAMS vendors and employees and related reporting through its Accounts Payable, Travel Management and Payroll sections
- Producing internal and external financial statements and related reports
- Performing financial analyses which provide information useful in decision making
- Developing, implementing and monitoring internal controls
- Providing consulting in the areas of accounting, financial matters and business management
